Where we are

No money has moved yet.

The association was entered in the register on 27 July 2026. As of the date at the top of this page:

• Advertising revenue: zero. Because there are no adverts, on any of it.
• Donor money spent: zero. Because we have not asked for any yet.
• Salaries paid: zero. Nobody draws a salary, including the founders and the board.
• Given away so far: three working services, free, with no account required, running today.

When money starts arriving, this page gains the real figures, updated quarterly and dated. An out of date transparency page is worse than none.

Zakat

We do not accept zakat.

Funding free software and educational content from zakat is a contested question among scholars, and we would rather not put your obligation at risk. Give us sadaqah, and give your zakat to the poor.

If that position ever changes, it will change because a named scholar has written and signed a policy we can publish here, not because it became convenient.

Review

How the religious content is checked.

Every Qur'anic verse and hadith we publish is taken from a named published source, with its reference and, for hadith, its grading. We check gradings before we quote and we leave out narrations that do not hold up, including ones that would suit us.

We do not claim scholarly endorsement, because we do not have it yet. Arranging a named reviewer who is willing to be named publicly is work in progress, and until it is done, saying otherwise would be worth less than saying nothing.

Tax

Where the deduction question stands.

Baqiyah is not currently on the Estonian Tax and Customs Board list of non-profit associations benefiting from income tax incentives, so a donation made today does not carry an Estonian tax deduction.

The route open to us is an application together with an interim report covering 27 July 2026 to 31 January 2027, submitted in early February 2027. If it is accepted at the first opportunity, listing would follow on 1 March 2027, and more realistically 1 April 2027. On a stricter reading of the rules it could be a year later. We would rather write that out than promise a date.

Donors outside Estonia should assume no deduction. We are not going to imply otherwise.

Practice

The code we hold ourselves to.

We have adopted the Estonian good practice code for collecting donations, Annetuste kogumise hea tava. One of its requirements matters more than the rest and we will honour it in the plainest place: where donations are collected and part is passed on, the donor has the right to know in advance what proportion is kept for the collector's own costs. When that applies to us, the number goes on the give page, not just in an annual report nobody reads.

Limits

What we will not do.

• No advertising, on any product, ever, including the polite kind.
• No selling or sharing donor or visitor data. There is no advertising pixel on this site and no cookie banner, because there is nothing to consent to.
• No paying the founders from donations.
• No zakat until a named scholar signs a policy we can publish.
• No claim that 100% of your gift goes to the cause. For a software charity that claim is not merely debatable, it is arithmetically dishonest, because the costs are the cause.
• No crisis language, no countdown timers, no photographs of distressed children. They work, which is exactly why we will not use them.
• No impact claim we cannot evidence in one click.
• No charging mosques. Not now, not at scale, not for a premium tier.
